# What is a template?
Source: https://help.notionrhino.com/en/guides/essentials/what-is-a-template
Learn what a Notion template is and how duplicating one gives you a fully built workspace in seconds.
A Notion template is a pre-built page or workspace you can duplicate into your own Notion account. Think of it as a ready-made system — the structure, databases, views, and logic are already set up. You just add your own content.
## How it works
When you purchase a template from Notion Rhino, you get a link to a shared Notion page. From there, it's one click to duplicate it into your workspace.
After purchase, you'll receive a link to the template page in Notion.
Open the link and click the **Duplicate** button in the top-right corner of the page.
Select the Notion workspace you want to add the template to.
The template is now yours. Customize it however you like — rename things, adjust views, add your data.
Follow the full step-by-step installation guide.
## What comes with a Notion Rhino template?
Every template we ship includes:
* **Pre-configured databases** — tables, boards, calendars, and timelines are already built and linked
* **Multiple views** — see your data the way that works best for you
* **Documentation** — each template comes with a guide explaining how it works and how to get the most out of it
Duplicating a template creates a completely independent copy in your workspace. Changes you make don't affect the original, and changes we make to the template don't affect your copy.

# What is Notion?
Source: https://help.notionrhino.com/en/guides/essentials/what-is-notion
A quick introduction to Notion — the all-in-one workspace used by millions of people worldwide.
Notion is a flexible productivity app that combines notes, documents, databases, and project management into a single workspace. Instead of juggling separate apps for tasks, wikis, and spreadsheets, Notion lets you build exactly the system you need — all in one place.
## What can you do with Notion?
Create notes, wikis, SOPs, meeting notes, and long-form documents with a clean, distraction-free editor.
Track tasks and projects with boards, timelines, calendars, and table views — all driven by the same database.
Design a workspace that fits the way you think — habit trackers, goal planners, dashboards, and more.
Share pages, collaborate in real time, and keep your team aligned with shared wikis and project spaces.
## Why people love it
Notion is powerful because it's a blank canvas. You're not locked into one way of doing things. The same tool that runs a startup's entire operations can also work as a student's study planner.
The downside of that flexibility is that setting up a good system takes time. That's where Notion Rhino comes in — our templates give you a solid starting point so you can skip the setup and start getting things done.

# Understanding Projects & Epics
Source: https://help.notionrhino.com/en/templates/project-management-dashboard/understanding-projects-and-epics
Learn how the Project Management Dashboard treats Projects as Epics, and how epic details are organized inside each project page.
In the Notion Rhino Project Management Dashboard, **Projects and Epics are the same thing**. Each Project page represents an Epic — the title names it, and everything inside the page defines it.
This keeps your workspace clean and flat. Instead of managing a separate Epics database, all the detail lives inside the project itself.
## How it works
### The project title = the epic name
When you create a new project, the page title is the name of that epic. Keep it clear and outcome-focused.
Examples:
* `User research & discovery`
* `Design & prototyping`
* `Q3 marketing campaign`
* `Client onboarding — Acme Corp`
### Inside the project page = the epic details
Opening a project page reveals the full epic. The content inside is organized into **tabs**, each representing a different dimension of the work:
| Tab | What it contains |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overview** | Goals, context, and success criteria for this epic |
| **Tasks** | Individual tasks and sub-tasks that make up the work |
| **Timeline** | Schedule and milestones |
| **Notes** | Meeting notes, decisions, and updates |
This tabbed structure keeps all the relevant detail in one place without cluttering the main dashboard view.
## The hierarchy in practice
```
Dashboard (top-level view)
└── Project page = Epic
├── Tab: Overview
├── Tab: Tasks
├── Tab: Timeline
└── Tab: Notes
```
From the dashboard, you see all your epics at a glance. Click into any one to work inside it.
Name your projects like deliverables, not vague categories. "Design homepage" is better than "Design work" — it's clear when it's done.
